Update on COVID-19 from our Senior Partners

With the continuing increases in Covid-19 cases and the implementation of a State of Emergency in Ontario, the partners at Cody & James CPAs have had to reconsider their strategy for keeping their staff and clients safe.

Effective March 19, 2020 we will be closing our doors to the public temporarily in an effort to limit face-to-face interactions. Be assured, business is continuing behind the scenes! Our staff are all able to access their work and email from home through our secure private network.

We have 4 ways for you to get information to us so we can provide tax, bookkeeping, payroll, and accounting services:

  1. The locked dropbox outside our office door (please use a sealed envelope)
  2. For bulky items, we can open an office window for drop off through the window and into a bin
  3. We can send you an email with a link to upload files using our secure encrypted Sharefile (Citrix) application; or
  4. Send us a link at to your favourite virtual dropbox/cloud storage.

For our personal tax clients, don’t forget:

  1. The filing deadline has been extended to June 1st (with payments now due August 31st); and
  2. If you are getting a refund, there’s no filing deadline!

We will have a few staff available during regular business hours (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm) so if you have questions please call or email instead of coming in and they will find one of our qualified staff to get back to you.

As with everything these days, details may change as the situation evolves so stay tuned for further updates.

Stay safe everyone!
